Further education (Colleges)

Sixth Form Colleges mainly offer A Level courses. These qualifications build on the work done at GCSE and assessed through exams. They support several different career paths which can lead to further study at University, an Apprenticeship or job. It is usual to choose 3 or 4 subjects in the first year, and then continue with 3 subjects in the second year.

Colleges of Further Education offer a variety of courses at different levels, linked to various careers. These qualifications can lead to employment, apprenticeships or further study, either at college or at university.
