At Wyvern Academy, we aim to make the transition throughout the academy as easy and seamless as possible. We work with Darlington partnership of schools to ensure that the transition offer for all pupils helps them to settle quickly into their secondary education. It is our hope that when children are supported well to manage this change in their lives, this helps to build resilience, a skill that is required into adulthood.

Although the majority of our students join us from our closest primary schools, we are always pleased to welcome students from other primary schools in Darlington, the UK, and even other parts of the world.

Primary Liaison Transition Team

Our Liaison Team works in collaboration with primary staff and parents to ensure we provide students and parents with the key information they will need to make the decision to come to Wyvern. 

We get to know students (and many parents) before they become part of the Wyvern family so, when they do join us they feel happy, confident, and ready to learn. Parents can be assured of a close working relationship between home and the academy.

We have been pleased to host a range of exciting primary liaison events over the last few years and welcome potential students to Wyvern. We have provided a range of virtual events since March 2020. 

Currently, our focus is to engage with Y5 students and parents considering Wyvern for September 2023.  Please contact us should you wish to discuss any aspect of your child's future here.
